I am sharing my experiences as a family member turned care giver and the mistakes I made due to my ignorance of the Alzheimer's Disease(AD). The objective is that nobody should commit the same mistakes if - (GOD FORBID !) any of their loved ones gets this dreaded disease.
Through this book, I would like to share inputs on the symptoms, the changed behaviours, the wrong response, the facts about Alzheimer's Disease which cause these changed behaviout, the correct response, and many more inputs on how to manage your beloved ones if they are a victim of AD.
The book does not go into any of the technical aspects but limits itself to the human & care giving aspects only and is a recommended read for anyone who has to interact and understand a patient with Alzheimer's Disease.
The book is also a repentance and a form of apology seeking by the author who could not relate to the changed behaviour of his beloved father who is suffering from AD. The primary cause was the author's lack of knowledge about the disease and how to handle it. After in depth study of the disease, its symptoms, and induced behaviour on the patient the author is determined that nobody else should repeat the same mistakes with their loved one due to ignorance about facts and how to manage Alzheimer's Disease.

The honesty and forthrightness of the author touches a chord. He has kept the style simple and easy to understand. People who have already had an occasion to interact with patients of Alzheimer's, like myself, can easily identify with a lot of the mistakes listed, while some of the solutions have also been arrived at - sometimes by sheer luck, sometimes as a last resort.Definitely a must-read for the insights that you get into the world surrounding an Alzheimer's patient.

I went through the book, found it to be of great help. It educates us in a way. This book is written in a very simple language that can be easily understood. All the details have been explained very well, this will bring awareness among all and how to deal with this. A must read not only for Alzheimer's patients or their relatives, but for each and everyone. I totally appreciate the author for coming up with this book. Cheers.
A practical and very useful guide for carers and relatives of Alzheimer's disease. The author's description of the trauma carer / family member goes through due to ignorance of the disease taken from his own experience is really appreciated. Well done
A very personal and in-depth account of the author's experience of struggle with a loved one's Alzheimer's. A helpful guide to those who unfortunately may find themselves in a similar situation. For them at least there is a manual and a guidebook thanks to Balagopal's first hand account.
very insightful and yet practical;
simple explanations of the trauma caused to the caretaker;
fine dealing of the problems caused which enables the reader to come up with their own solutions for day to day problems;
A touching heartfelt narration.It is a good insight into the behavioural pattern of both the caregiver as well as the patient.
It is also a very good pointer to handle kids because infants and Ad patients are at a similar faculty level.
