Moving to a new city isn’t the magic fix Lexie Travis hoped it would be. Sure, she put some mileage between herself and her feuding parents, her miserable dating history, and the memories of a life-altering injury. However, she still feels like a former shadow of herself, hiding behind her diminished confidence and her thorough disbelief in true love.
Everything changes when Lexie’s best (and only) friend drags her to a country music concert. Lexie loves country music, but she loathes the top-selling heartthrob who sold out the arena. Jack Morgan became a sensation with a string of degrading, shallow songs that she can’t stand.
A startling trauma lands Jack in the hospital, and Lexie is the physical therapist assigned to the VIP treatment of the very man she despises.
Jack is drawn to the one woman who appears resistant to his charms and who loves to check his ego every chance she gets, yet gives him the honesty he needs. She’s the opposite of his usual groupies. He can only continue his tour if he receives rehab on the road, and Lexie is the lone person Jack trusts for the job.
Reluctantly, she agrees to take the journey on his luxury coach, joining the wild cast of characters on his crew. Yes, she was given many incentives to take the assignment, but the reason she wants to ignore is the dangerous one. Jackson Morgan is growing on her.
At every turn, another challenge pushes her away from him.
Stepping onto the tour bus is the domino that starts a chain reaction in their lives and challenges them both to change. Could they learn to believe in love and happily ever after?

Praise for Groupie

"Fans of Colleen Hoover will definitely enjoy Groupie. When it comes to exploring a character's emotions, Susan Daugherty hit the nail on the head. I felt the fear, the excitement, and the love between Lexie and Jack. Both characters have been scared by the past and are scared to commit, but as they get to know each other better, their friendship turns into something more meaningful. This book is filled with "awww"-inspiring sweet moments and nail biting suspense (sometimes more than I could take). I especially loved that it still managed to convey the romantic atmosphere without the overblown sex scenes so prevalent in romance books nowadays. The book ends in a cliffhanger, but was totally worth the read. I can't wait to read the conclusion of Lexie and Jack's story in Muse."

"It was one of those stories that gripped me right from page one and kept me reading all the way through. The plot was very well thought out, as well as a great story, Ms. Daugherty provided plenty of background about the characters, giving them substance. It as a fun story, one that tugged at the heart strings a little as the relationship developed between the two main characters, despite everything that seemed to be against it ever happening. This is an incredibly well written book, with a story that has been designed to draw a reader in and hold their interest. I, for one, couldn't put it down and I am looking forward to reading book 2."

"What a wild ride! Two broken souls brought together and thrown together and back apart over and over again. This book is so amazing as they help each other heal in many ways. I haven't felt that much angst since I was a teenager myself."

Groupie Volume 1 edition by Susan Daugherty Contemporary Romance eBooks

Take one bad-boy country singing star, add one good-girl physical therapist, and throw in an accident that means she must treat his injuries on the tour bus, and you’ve got one original set-up for a romantic novel. When you find out the girl can’t stand the womanizing star, but somehow she can’t help falling for him, you’ve got a book you’ll speed through in a weekend.

What makes Daugherty’s debut so irresistible is its heroine Lexie—she’s smart, spunky, assertive, flirty, and authentic. She doesn’t take any crap either. I found myself smiling at the things that came out of her mouth. She’s the kind of young woman I’d like for a girlfriend. Heck, I do have friends like her! Even the bad-boy has a teddy-bear heart and an honorable side.

But of course, life on the road throws trouble their way, just when things are heating up. High-pressure managers, sweet-talking groupies in their spike heels … and a bit of bruised pride. Will the two love-birds survive?

Groupie Volume 1 edition by Susan Daugherty Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews

I am loving the character interaction between physical therapist Lexie Travis and her patient, country music bad boy Jack Morgan, in Groupie by Susan Wehrle Daugherty. Susan sets up the story well with her knowledge of physical therapy treatment and knows when to throw in some conflict. The only problem I am having with the story is that I don't want it to end! I find it hard to believe this is her very first novel. I expect to see and look forward to many, many more heart-warming stories from this new author.
This is the kind of writing that makes you feel like you're watching a good movie. The characters were well-developed and relatable, the story line was well-plotted, and the music references and locations struck a chord in my heart! I wouldn't have guessed she was a first-time author and am anxiously awaiting the next book!
This is a super fun book! While it is predictable that the 2 main characters fall for each other (cute female PT has to "rehab" hot male singer?!), how they get there is anything but ordinary. And Lexie is such a stubborn person, she reminds me of myself so of course I liked her! If you enjoy music, romance, and stories that make you reminisce for your single days before kids... this is the book for you! I read it in less than a week because I couldn't put it down. Can't wait for Susan Daugherty's next book!
I loved Jack and Lexi's story. A girl ( physical therapist) thrown into the country music arena is the fish out water story. But Lexi is professional and her job means everything. How long will her defenses hold up against a sexy sensitive County music star? Tension is palpable! A must read!
Needless to say, this book was fantastic! It kept lt me up when I should have been sleeping...made me late whem I should have been on time...

It's a bittersweet story and I can't wait for the next book. It's very well-written and the plot is fantastic and a real page turner.

It's about a very charismatic rockstar who is trying to put his past in the past, and the woman he is doing it for.
I have to say that I truly enjoyed reading this book. Groupie is a story about 2 characters, Lexie and Jackson, that are thrown together in the most unusual of circumstances. It is crazy the kinds of shenanigans a physical therapist and a country crooner can get into when trying to finish up what's left of a headlining tour surrounded by band members, VIPs, managers, family, assistants, women, and plenty of alcohol and temptation? - believe me, lots can happen.

One thing is for sure though, both Lexie and Jackson challenge each other - but is that enough to keep a friendship and a budding romance from going south?!

Check out Groupie to get a fresh taste of Lexie and Jackson and all the fun extras that make up this great tale of stepping outside of one's comfort zone and experiencing the heartfelt emotions that come with taking chances.
My favorite books are ones that are easy to read and keep you engrossed from the first page to the last- and that is exactly what I got from Groupie! The idea of an average girl who steals the heart of the impossible-to-get guy is something that I have always loved, and it is done perfectly in this novel.
The main character of Lexie, is someone every girl can relate to. I really enjoyed the fact that she was so accomplished, yet still feeling a bit lost and trying to set out on her own path. It was fun to learn more about her field of physical therapy and how her knowledge wound up making her so important to Jack. As a celebrity, he is used to girls falling at his feet and I just love the fact that Lexie was completely the opposite. She did not care for him at all and was not shy about telling him. Even better- he found it refreshing and it drew him to her. The more she resisted, the more intrigued he was.
The adventure she takes as a fish out of water on his tour bus was so fun and the reader feels like they are along for the ride. The journey takes her on so many new experiences and allows her to meet many new and interesting people. The tour crew and Jack’s ex-girlfriend are hilarious. Lexie’s best friend, Ashley, is refreshing as the counter balance to Lexie’s prudence with her outgoing optimism. Their conversations are priceless and made me laugh out loud.
Romance is still the heart of this story, though and I found myself rooting for these two as they grew closer and tested boundaries. The cute nicknames they use for each other are endearing and their connection was very palpable. I loved when Jackson began to use Lexie for inspiration for his songs at his concerts. Their love story is unique in many ways but is still a good old fashioned tale of two very different people falling in love when they least expected it. His lifestyle and her resistance give them a lot of challenges and keep the reader on their toes.
The ending of the book has me craving more of this story and I can’t wait to read more as I know these two characters are meant to be together and I’m so glad I have another book to look forward to reading.
