Chubbie Miller was a resourceful and courageous woman who came close to death on more than a few occasions but kept on with her passion for flying. The story encompasses passions of another kind, those of her relationship with her partner Bill Lancaster and her affair with Haden Clarke . This is a great story but somehow the book was very much a documentary rather than getting inside the head of our heroine and letting us get to know her as you might have expected from a dramatic novel. The ending of the book is also an anticlimatic summary up to her death rather than exploring how Chubbie's later life may have been.
